circumstance

One of the hallmarks of the Cerritos mission is its focus on Christian education. Before coming to Paraguay, I'd only vaguely heard about Colegio Cerritos and Escuela Marangatu. It's one thing to see pictures and hear about the work being done through these private Christian schools, but it's another to actually be here, forming relationships with and witnessing God's work in the lives of these students and their families.

These schools are one of our primary vehicles for teaching the Gospel and bringing people to church. One of my preschoolers started coming to Iglesia Marangatu with her mother recently, who heard about the church through her five-year-old daughter and decided to check it out. They've been pretty consistent in coming out for the past month, attending both the children's and adult services on Sunday mornings. Awesome!

Yesterday, the class of 2009 graduated from Colegio Cerritos (the school year runs from February to December, since the seasons are flipped on this side of the equator). It's exciting to think that these 23 brothers and sisters, instilled with the Gospel, will be among the future movers and shakers of Paraguay.

Prayer: that these graduates would grow to become faithful, mature witnesses of Christ; for Maria Sol and her mother as they continue to come to Marangatu
