interlude

It's been an interesting and unforgettable day, to say the least. Some sweet moments here, sour moments there. But just as the marriage of sweet and sour can result in something wonderful (like eggrolls slathered in sweet and sour sauce...or crab rangoon with sweet and sour sauce on the side...or sweet and sour chicken...or...can you tell I'm craving Chinese fast-food), at the end of the day I am reminded that God is good, all the time.

The Sweet:

• Proyecto Daniel at 5:00 AM: Even though it's a constant battle between my body and my alarm clock, it's only by grace that I've been waking up in time to make it to these morning prayer meetings each week. So different from the lazy bones I used to be in college, when I thought any hour with a single digit was too early.
• Send-off Service: CPC's little church plant has come a long way. Now Marangatu is not only receiving missionaries, but helping to send out missionaries as well! This morning we prayed for a sister from a sister church, who will be spending the next two weeks serving in China.
• My first real soccer game (ever): And it happened to be a pre-World Cup International Friendly between Paraguay and South Africa. Final score: 1-1. Can't get much friendlier than that.

The Sour:

• For those who know Pastor Fredy, his car was robbed today during the game. The vandals stole his radio and his brother Danny's backpack containing allergy medication + asthma inhaler. And a few weeks ago, Pastor Fredy's daughter collapsed in a seizure. The local doctors still don't know what caused it. It's been a rough March for Pastor Fredy.

The Wonderful:

• Rejoicing in triumphs and trials. And knowing that God is good, even when a situation doesn't always seem so good.
